SilviPak produces high quality food packaging items from virgin wood pulp. The flexibility of the packaging items makes them suitable for numerous applications, the foremost application being packaged frozen and chilled food.

SilviPak is part of Rottneros Packaging AB in the Rottneros Group, one of the world’s leading specialist companies working with the development and production of paper pulp for the open market. The Group is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, has around 800 employees and a turnover of SEK 2,400 million.

SilviPak’s development is based on Rottneros’ more than one hundred years of experience and knowledge of the raw material, i.e. forest and paper pulp. A careful and thorough development process including a series of laboratory and product tests has resulted in a flexible, sturdy and environmentally-friendly product. SilviPak is approved for use for food contact.

We prioritise constant development of our packaging items to find new solutions and areas of application. Development work is carried out in close cooperation with our customers to optimise the products for specific needs.

Worldwide licence

The company has a worldwide licence to manufacture food packaging items from cellulose fibres.

The market

The European market for food packaging of the type produced by SilviPak consists of around 6 billion packaging items per year. The vast majority are oil-based trays. The market is growing by around 8 – 10 per cent per year.
